As we age, we lose flexibility at an alarming rate even at a greater rate than we lose strength. Our muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons tighten and stiffen as we get older making doing simple things harder. As muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons become tighter they contract causing fibrous connective tissue to condense thereby inducing decreased function, strength and flexibility. Over time if left untreated can lead to severe loss of mobility, stability and strength.
